KINO/11 - Recent German Film Productions

Published exclusively in this site on 20 October 2011.

From tonight until the end of the month, there is a wide range of recent German film productions being screened around town, so all you germanophones out there should start planning your schedule around it! This year's theme is on history and its relations with the present, and the 13 featured films will all focus upon this topic. I would definitely recommend going to the free screening of short films at the roof garden of the Fringe Club starting 7:30pm on next Wednesday, 26 October 2011, where they will be showing a successful German-French collaboration with everything from bizarre to touching to hilarious.

I particularly want to watch the Brownian Movement, which is being screened on next Monday, 24 October 2011, and the Saturday after, 29 October 2011, at the Hong Kong Science Museum, AMC Festival Walk, and AMC Pacific Place. It looks much in line with the laboratory settings and alternative arrangements with the elderly featured in Sleeping Beauty. Another one that I would like to watch is Romeos, which would be aired on the coming Saturday, 22 October 2011, and the Sunday after, 30 October 2011, at the AMC Festival Walk. The movie touches upon the transsexual protagonist being discovered by his partner that he was once a she. I guess this is the opposite of Boy's Don't Cry? You can get your tickets from URBTIX for films showing in Agnès b. CINEMA and Hong Kong Science Museum. For the films showing in AMC Festival Walk and AMC Pacific Place, you can get the tickets directly from their box office. Enjoy!
