Through Their Eyes - Breathing Hong Kong Photography Exhibition

Published exclusively in this site on 5 July 2011.

What would it be like to give each teenager a camera and set them loose in Hong Kong? Wouldn't it be interesting to look through their camera lenses into their lives, families, and neighbourhood? This is what Breathing Hong Kong: Photography Exhibition is all about.

Through this exercise, Los Angeles based Venice Arts gave the Hong Kong students a series of workshops on cultivating their senses as well as equipping them with fundamental techniques. After which, they were taken through photo-expeditions, giving them a chance to express themselves with a local flair. Their instructor, Galen Tse, was keen to see that the adolescents utilised their observation skills and explored a different side of their home town.

Obviously, if you fancy getting a glimpse of underprivileged youngster's point of view, you should visit the exhibition before it ends next week. Want to see what is going through their minds in more details? RTHK produced several documentaries here on hot sociological topics. Here's another thing for you to reflect upon.
