Parfum à Le French May

Published exclusively in this site on 7 June 2011.

Le French May isn't just about performances. Does l'eau de parfum ring a bell?

From now till 16 June 2011, a free exhibition presenting the history of perfume is being held in the Pacific Place. 120 exceptional perfume-related exhibits have been chosen by renowned perfume experts Anne Camilli and Jean Marie Martin-Hattemberg to reflect contemporary creativity while expressing the fascinating stories behind each scent.

The exhibition displays the routes from which essential oils travelled from Asia to Europe, which gave birth to a prominent industry at Grasse in southern France during the 17th century. It also shows that since the end of 19th century, many of the exquisite fragrances were created and presented with innovative packaging. There are definitely lots of myths on perfumes, but let's just hope that the most notorious one is not actually true.

A complimentary olfactory workshop, which is essentially a smelling course, will be held from 9 June 2011 to 16 June 2011 by Ms Chelsea Chik, Guerlain Head Fragrance Specialist. Chelsea, who acquired her in depth expertise in France, will lead you into a journey of aroma discovery through raw materials and legendary perfume. Spaces are limited so call Le French May to secure your seat now!
